All Fortress windows are steel reinforced to comply with British Standard BS7950/7412 (formerly PAS011:1994) Improved Security for Domestic Dwellings. All material used conforms to BS1449, BS EN 10143 and BS 2994.

Shootbolts are fitted as standard to the Fortress window. These are manufactured from stainless steel and lock into stainless steel keeps. A unique additional security feature is that the shootbolt also has espagnolette rollers, making it one of the most secure fasteners on the market.
